2007

Although broke and living on credit cards while training to become an online college professor I send Dave tickets to visit with Jasmijn. Dave makes a lot of money but beyond a bare minimum of child support he does not help us financially, neither does his millionaire father (not even 1 dollar). Dave shows off a new $7000,- laptop, while I have to dig in the couch pillows for change to afford some fries at McDonalds. Thank God for the Austin Red Tent mommas; they come and bring us home cooked meals! I quickly connect to some awesome new friends. Dutchies too 🙂

It takes me about a year and all my hard work pays off. I become a full-time college professor at The Art Institute of Pittsburgh online and buy a house in Austin, TX. I continue to send Dave tickets so he can visit with Jasmijn. During these visits he stays at our house and I drive him around. The three of us go on hikes and I cook barbeques in the backyard. At other times I give him the key to my house and my car and stay somewhere else in order to facilitate more private father-daughter time.
